Peaceable Fudge - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar
3 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened baking chocolate
1/2 c. sweet milk
1/4 c. evaporated milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 Tbsp. butter
3 large marshmallows
1/4 to 1/2 c. chopped pecans or raisins
Preparation

Butter sides of heavy, 2-quart saucepan. Add first 5 ingredients and stir well over low heat until melted.
Bring to a boil over medium heat; reduce to low heat and cook without stirring until mixture reaches soft-boil stage (235\u00b0 on candy thermometer). Remove pan from heat and let stand until lukewarm. Stir in remaining ingredients and beat vigorously until mixture just begins to lose its gloss and mounds when dropped from spoon. Pour into buttered 8 or 9-inch square pan. When cool, cut into squares. Yield: about 1 pound.
