Chocolate Covered Cherries - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. soft butter
    1/2 c. corn syrup
    4 1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    maraschino cherries
    block of chocolate
Preparation
    Mix first 5 ingredients.
    Cut cherries in half.
    Take about 1 teaspoon of mixture and put into palm of hand; flatten.
    Put the 1/2 cherry in the middle.
    Roll into a ball.
    Freeze until hard. Melt chocolate.
    Dip balls, then chill again.
