Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cube oleo
    1 large onion, cut fine
    6 to 8 medium potatoes, diced
    2 carrots, grated
    2 to 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    6 c. water (just to cover)
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. white pepper (optional)
    2 c. milk
Preparation
    Melt butter, saute onions and add potatoes, carrots, water and salt.
    Cook until tender.
    Add 2 or 3 tablespoons cornstarch or flour to 2 cups milk.
    Mash potatoes and add milk.
    Cook until thickened.
