Shoo-Fly Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. flour
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
1/8 tsp. ground ginger
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. molasses
3/4 c. boiling water
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 egg yolk, beaten
Preparation

Mix together first 7 ingredients; cut in shortening with pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture is crumbly; set aside. Obtain 9-inch pie shell; set aside.
Combine 4 remaining ingredients.
Alternate layers in pie shell of crumbs and liquid mixture, ending with crumbs as top layer.
Bake at 450\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
Reduce heat to 350\u00b0 and bake about 20 minutes longer or until firm.
