Caramel Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 apples
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 c. dark corn syrup
    1 c. evaporated milk
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    chopped peanuts
Preparation
    Wash apples and remove stems.
    Place popsickle sticks through center of apples.
    Set aside.
    In saucepan combine sugar, syrup, cream and butter.
    Do not stir.
    Cook to firm ball stage.
    Remove from heat and add vanilla, stir lightly.
    Dip apples in syrup, remove and spin around to slightly cool the caramel.
    Roll in chopped nuts if desired.
    Place on waxed paper.
