Old-Fashioned Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. lean beef cubes
    1/3 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. paprika
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    2 Tbsp. oil
    2 c. liquid (may use water, stock or tomato sauce)
    1 bay leaf
    4 cloves, stuck into small onion
    1 c. small white onions
    4 sliced carrots
    1 c. sliced celery
    3 potatoes, quartered
Preparation
    Coat beef cubes with flour, salt, paprika and pepper.
    Brown cubes in oil.
    Add chosen liquid, bay leaf and cloves/onion.
    Cover and simmer for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
    Add more liquid as needed. Remove bay leaf and cloves, add onions, carrots, celery and potatoes.
    Cook 30 minutes longer, or until vegetables are tender. Serves 4 to 6.
