Night Before French Toast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (10 oz.) loaf French bread
    8 large eggs
    3 c. milk
    4 tsp. sugar
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
    3 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Butter 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Cut bread into 1-inch thick slices and arrange in 1 layer in pan.
    In bowl, mix remaining ingredients (except butter) thoroughly.
    Pour over bread.
    Cover and refrigerate 4 to 36 hours as needed.
