Sopaipillas - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    2 Tbsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    cinnamon and sugar
    hot water
    vegetable oil (for frying)
    honey
Preparation
    Combine the first 4 ingredients.
    Add hot water, a little at a time, until mixture becomes stiff dough.
    Flour hands and knead well.
    Divide dough into 1-inch balls.
    Roll out to 1/8-inch thickness, being sure not to get them too thin.
    Shape (with a knife) dough into triangle pieces.
    Deep fry pieces in very hot cooking oil.
    Remove when browned; roll in cinnamon and sugar mixture.
    Serve with a side of honey, if desired.
    These are wonderful!
    A great dessert with a Mexican meal.
