Ingredients

3/4 c. sugar
1 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. broken nuts (optional)
1 sq. bitter chocolate
2 Tbsp. butter
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
4 Tbsp. cocoa
1 c. strong coffee
Preparation

Butter a deep dish 12-inch pie pan.
Mix 3/4 cup sugar, flour, powder, salt and nuts.
Set aside.
Melt bitter chocolate, butter and milk (can use 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, 4 tablespoons butter and 1/2 cup milk instead, but do not heat).
Combine the flour mixture with the cooled chocolate mixture.
Pour into the pie pan. Mix the brown sugar, 1/2 cup sugar and cocoa; sprinkle on top.
