Creole Okra - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 medium onion, sliced
1 medium green pepper, sliced
1 small clove garlic, crushed
1/4 c. bacon drippings
2 lb. okra, cut in 1/2-inch slices
4 medium tomatoes, peeled and chopped
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. sugar
salt and pepper
1 tsp. file powder
Preparation

Saute onion, green pepper and garlic in bacon drippings in Dutch oven until onion is tender.
Add next 4 ingredients; salt and pepper to taste.
Cover and cook over medium heat about 20 minutes.
Remove from heat; stir in file powder.
Serve over hot rice.
