Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. syrup (white Karo)
    1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    3/4 tsp. salt
    12 oz. raw peanuts
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Butter a large cookie sheet.
    Cook the first 4 ingredients at high temperature until boiling.
    Add peanuts.
    Boil until syrup begins to turn brown (about 7 minutes).
    Add soda; stir only until soda dissolves.
    Pour onto buttered cookie sheet.
    Do not spread. Allow brittle to spread by itself.
    After it cools, break into small pieces.
