Viennese Dessert Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    2 egg yolks
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 c. walnuts or pecans, chopped
    3/4 c. jam
Preparation
    Mix butter and sugar until fluffy.
    Add egg yolks and blend well.
    Add flour gradually and then stir in nuts.
    Spoon half of batter into buttered 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Top with jam; cover with remaining batter.
    Spread with spatula dipped in hot water and then wiped.
    Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 30 minutes.
    Cool and then cut into bars.
