Ingredients

1/4 c. cornstarch
2/3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. scalded milk
3 beaten egg whites
1 Tbsp. margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. coconut
Preparation

Mix cornstarch, sugar and salt.
Add milk.
Cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring.
Cook 2 minutes.
Remove from heat.
Add small amount of egg at a time.
Cook 1 minute.
Add butter, vanilla and coconut.
Pour into baked crust.
Top with meringue, if desired.
