Red Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. bacon drippings
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    1/4 c. vinegar
    1/4 c. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    1 small onion
    4 whole cloves
    4 c. red cabbage, shredded
    2 c. apples, pared and sliced
Preparation
    Stick onion with whole cloves.
    In a medium skillet, heat bacon drippings.
    Blend in brown sugar, vinegar, water, salt and pepper. Add cabbage, apples and onion.
    Cover and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Remove onion before serving.
