Chipmunk Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. boiling water
1 c. chopped dates
1 3/4 c. sifted flour
1/4 c. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. oleo
1/2 c. crisco
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. nuts
1 c. chocolate bits
Preparation

Combine water and dates, set aside to cool. Cream shortenings and sugar, add eggs and vanilla. Mix well. Alternate dry ingredients with dates. Spread in a 9 x 13 pan. Sprinkle with chopped nuts and 1 c. chocolate bits.
