Golden Date Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. self-rising flour (sifted)
1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 c. milk
1/2 c. Crisco
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 medium eggs, unbeaten
1 c. pitted dates, cut up fine
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Preparation

Mix flour, granulated sugar, milk, Crisco and vanilla extract 2 minutes on medium.
Add eggs and dates.
Beat 2 minutes and fold in nuts.
Bake in 2 layers for 35 to 45 minutes in 350\u00b0 oven. Cool.
Frost with Orange Icing.
