Green Tomato Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 qt. sliced tomatoes
    3 medium onions, sliced
    1/4 c. salt
    ice water
    3/4 qt. vinegar
    3 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
    1 Tbsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Add salt to tomatoes and onions.
    Cover with ice water and let stand one hour.
    Combine vinegar, sugar, celery and mustard seed in large saucepan.\tBring to a boil.
    Drain tomatoes and onions. Rinse in cold water.
    Add to previous mixture and let simmer until hot.
    Do not boil.\tPack into hot sterilized jars and seal.
    Makes about 5 pints.
