Kings Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter (1/2 lb.)
    1 c. sugar
    5 egg yolks, beaten
    5 egg whites, beaten
    grated lemon peel from 1 lemon (wash first)
    2 tsp. lemon juice
    1/2 tsp. almond extract
    1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
    dash of nutmeg
    2 c. sifted flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. raisins, chopped and rolled in flour
Preparation
    First cream butter and sugar until soft.
    Add eggs very slowly. Add lemon peel, juice, extracts and nutmeg.
    Blend well.
    Mix flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder together and add slowly, blending well.
    Add chopped raisins, saving a few to sprinkle on top of batter.
    Generously butter a loaf pan (9 x 5-inch) and sprinkle with plain bread crumbs.
    Pour in batter, sprinkle with remaining raisins.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 60 to 90 minutes until golden brown and toothpick comes out clean.
    (If batter seems too thick, add a few teaspoons of milk.)
