Crispy Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. water
    1 c. vinegar
    1/8 c. canning salt
    1/2 clove garlic
    cayenne pepper (fresh or 1/2 tsp. ground)
    dill weed
    fresh pickling cucumber
Preparation
    Wash fresh cucumbers with brush, then soak in ice water for 2 hours.
    Bring water, vinegar and salt to a boil.
    Pack chilled cucumbers, garlic, cayenne and dill in clear hot jars.
    Pour vinegar mixture over cucumbers and screw on lids.
    Put jars in simmering water (2/3 of jars in water).
    Simmer 10 minutes. Remove, screw down lids tightly.
    Quickly invert, then right jars. Can eat in 2 weeks.
