Fresh Peach Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick (1/2 c.) butter or margarine, melted
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 egg, beaten
    3 c. sliced fruit
    2 c. sugar, divided
    1 c. plain flour
    pinch of salt
    3/4 c. milk or fruit liquid (see note on fruit liquid)
    1/2 c. sugar
Preparation
    Melt butter in a 1 1/2-quart deep baking casserole dish. Combine 1 cup of sugar, flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. Pour 1 cup of sugar over peaches; let stand 30 minutes or more. Combine milk or fruit juice with eggs; pour over melted butter. Add fruit and sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar over top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
