New York All Purpose Mix - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 1/2 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    8 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. shortening
Preparation
    Sift together dry ingredients.
    Cut in shortening until mix is consistency of cornmeal.
    Store in covered container at room temperature.
    To measure, spoon lightly into cup; level off with knife.
    Do not pack.
