Ingredients

1 1/2 c. Crisco
2 1/4 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
2 tsp. coconut flavor
1 (7 oz.) can flaked coconut
Preparation

Cream shortening, sugar and eggs for 10 minutes at high speed. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk and beat well.
Add flavoring and coconut and mix well.
Bake in greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
Place in cold oven.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour and 25 minutes.
When cake is done, let cool in pan 5 minutes before removing.
Place under a cake cover to retain moisture. Does not freeze well.
