Raisin Filled Cookies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
3 eggs
1 c. milk
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
6 c. flour
1 box raisins
Preparation

Cook raisins in water with enough sugar to sweeten.
When raisins are soft, thicken as for raisin pie.
Add 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 2 teaspoons butter and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Remove from heat.
Cream brown sugar and shortening.
Add eggs, one at a time; continue beating and add milk alternately with dry ingredients.
