German Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 lb. butter or oleo
    1 c. buttermilk
    4 egg yolks
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 egg whites
    1 pkg. German sweet chocolate
Preparation
    Melt chocolate in 1/2 cup boiling water. Let cool. Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten egg yolks; add 3/4 cup buttermilk alternately with flour.
    Dissolve soda in remaining 1/4 cup buttermilk. Add salt, chocolate and vanilla. Finally fold in stiffly beaten whites. Bake in 350\u00b0 oven until it springs back from touch.
