Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    3 c. flour
    1/2 c. cocoa
    2 eggs
    3 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream shortening; add sugar.
    Cream well, add eggs slightly beaten.
    Have dry ingredients sifted together.
    Add alternately with buttermilk.
    Add vanilla; mix well.
    Then add 1 cup boiling water.
    Bake in slow oven at 275\u00b0 about 1 hour.
