Plantation Spice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 1/3 c. sugar
7/8 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs and 1 yolk, beaten

Preparation

Mix all ingredients well with electric mixer.
Pour into 9 x 13-inch pan, well-greased or two 9-inch cake pans, well-greased. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
