Holiday Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. butter or margarine
    2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    9 eggs
    1/2 c. chopped candied cherries
    4 1/4 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream butter until soft and fluffy.
    Add sugar gradually beating thoroughly.
    Add vanilla.
    Add
    eggs,
    one
    at
    a time, beating well after each egg
    is
    added.
    Sprinkle
    cherries and nuts with 1/4 cup of the flour.
    Sift remaining flour with salt and fold 1/2 cup at a time into the creamed mixture mixing only until smooth.
    Fold in cherries and nuts with the last addition of flour. Bake in greased and
    floured
    10-inch
    tube pan or in two loaf pans in a slow oven (300\u00b0
    to
    325\u00b0) for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
