Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. sliced cucumbers
    6 medium onions, sliced
    1/3 c. canning salt
    3 c. white vinegar
    5 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1/2 tsp. celery salt
    2 tsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Mix cucumbers, onions and canning salt.
    Cover with ice water and let stand 3 hours.
    Mix vinegar, sugar, turmeric, celery seed and mustard seed.
    Cook until hot.
    Drain cucumbers and add to brine.
    Boil up, pack and seal.
