Ground Beef And Potato Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. ground chuck
1 tsp. shortening
3/4 c. boiling water
1 small onion, chopped
6 medium potatoes, sliced
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation

Brown ground chuck in shortening.
Drain.
Combine boiling water and onion.
Simmer for 5 minutes.
Add mushroom soup, salt and pepper.
Cover bottom of 1 1/2 quart casserole with layer of thinly sliced potatoes.
Cover with thin layer of meat, top with soup-onion mixture and continue alternating layers.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes to one hour or until potatoes are tender.
Extra water may be added if mixture is too dry.
Casserole may be prepared ahead of time.
