Caramel Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar plus 2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. milk
    1 slightly beaten egg
    1 stick butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Place the 1/2 cup sugar in iron skillet over low heat.
    In saucepan, mix the 2 cups sugar, milk, butter and slightly beaten egg.
    Stir over low heat until butter melts.
    Increase heat and cook until it boils rapidly.
