Apple Pie In A Jar - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. cornstarch
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    3 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. salt
    10 c. water
Preparation
    Peel and slice apples, enough to pack into quart jars. Pack solid. Cover with syrup. Should be enough for at least 8 quarts. Cook syrup until thick and bubbly. Add lemon juice. Pour syrup over apples. Seal with lid and ring. Process 20 minutes in hot water bath.
