Peanut Butter Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. creamy peanut butter
    1/2 c. margarine or butter, softened
    4 c. Golden Grahams cereal, crushed
    2 c. powdered sugar
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    1/2 (11 1/2 oz. size) pkg. milk chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate chips (1 c.)
Preparation
    Mix peanut butter and margarine in large bowl.
    Stir in cereal.
    Mix in powdered sugar, 1/3 at a time.
    Press mixture firmly in ungreased square pan (9 x 9 x 2-inch).
    Heat shortening in 1-quart saucepan over low heat until melted.
    Add the chocolate chips.
    Heat over very low heat, stirring constantly, until the chocolate chips are melted and the mixture is smooth.
    Spread chocolate over mixture in pan.
    Cover and refrigerate about 1 hour or until chilled.
