Maple Nut Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/4 c. flour
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 egg
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/3 c. maple flavored syrup
2 Tbsp. butter, melted
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation

Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
Mix flour and sugar in bowl.
Cut in 1/2 cup butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Press into bottom of greased 9-inch square baking pan.
Bake 15 minutes or until lightly brown.
Beat egg, brown sugar, syrup, melted butter and vanilla until well blended.
Stir in nuts.
Spread evenly over warm crust.
Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until topping is firm around edges and slightly soft in center.
Cool; cut.
May be sprinkled with powdered sugar.
