Pecan Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    3 c. nuts
    3/4 c. syrup
    1/4 c. water
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients except soda.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until reaches 290\u00b0 on candy thermometer.
    Add baking soda; mix until foams up.
    Cool 2 hours, then break into pieces.
