Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 slices salt pork
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 medium onion, cut fine
    3 c. (strong) cubed potatoes
    1 (10 1/2 oz.) can whole clams and juice
    3 or 4 c. milk
    salt and pepper
    butter (size of walnut)
Preparation
    Fry out slices of salt pork in a 2-quart saucepan, then add to this the water, onion and potatoes.
    Cook until tender. Pour
    in the
    can
    of clams, juice and milk.
    Season to taste with
    salt and pepper and add the butter.
    Heat thoroughly but do not boil. Serves 2.
