Fish And Potato Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. oil
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/4 c. chopped green onions
    1/4 c. chopped fresh parsley
    3 c. mashed potatoes
    1/2 lb. fish, cooked and flaked (see note)
    salt to taste
    hot sauce or cayenne pepper to taste
    1 large egg, beaten
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    2 c. seasoned breadcrumbs
Preparation
    In small skillet over medium heat, heat the oil, then saute the onions, green onions and parsley until the onions are clear. Pour them into a large mixing bowl with the potatoes, fish, salt and hot sauce, then stir in the egg, garlic powder and bread crumbs.
    Form into patties and fry in 1/4-inch of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, turning once until golden brown on both sides.
    Yield:
    10 to 12 (3-inch) patties.
