Vegetable Beef Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. ground beef or ground turkey
    2 Tbsp. margarine
    2 c. diced onion
    2 cloves garlic, crushed
    1 1/2 c. chopped carrots
    2 c. chopped celery
    1 c. diced green pepper
    1/2 tsp. celery seed
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    3 c. beef broth
    1 (16 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
    1 c. hominy or corn (optional)
Preparation
    In large pan, brown meat in margarine.
    Add onion, garlic, carrots, celery and green pepper.
    Simmer 10 minutes.
    Add beef broth, tomatoes, salt and black pepper.
    Simmer on low for 35 minutes.
    Add hominy or corn.
    Cook 10 minutes more.
    Yields 4 quarts.
    May be refrigerated several days or frozen.
