Ingredients

1 loaf French bread
1/2 lb. butter (room temperature)
1 clove garlic, crushed
1/2 lb. shredded Cheddar cheese
1 can chopped green chilies
1 c. mayonnaise
Preparation

Cut loaf of bread in half lengthwise, then crosswise into serving size pieces.
Mix chilies, butter and garlic.
Spread on bread.
Top with mixture of the mayonnaise and cheese.
Bake in a 400\u00b0 oven until bubbly.
Serve at once.
Yields 24 servings.
