Rum Wassail - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 tsp. ground allspice
    8 sticks cinnamon
    20 whole cloves
    1 c. sugar
    4 c. cranberry juice
    4 (12 oz.) cans frozen apple juice, diluted according to directions on can
    1 c. rum (optional)
Preparation
    Tie spices in a cheesecloth bag.
    Combine sugar and juices in a 2-gallon container with spices and simmer for 30 minutes. Remove spice bag and add rum just before serving.
    Serves 30.
