Taffy Apple Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. diced apples
    8 oz. can crushed pineapple (save juice)
    1 c. salted peanuts
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 beaten egg
    1 Tbsp. cider vinegar
    8 oz. Cool Whip
Preparation
    Mix sugar and cornstarch in pan.
    Add egg, pineapple juice and vinegar.
    Cook on low heat until thick.
    Cool.
    Stir in pineapple and apples.
    Stir in nuts and Cool Whip.
    Chill.
