Butterscotch Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2/3 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream butter and brown sugar; beat egg and add to mixture, stirring to blend.
    Sift flour, measure and resift with baking powder.
    Add to other mixture, then add nuts.
    Turn batter into 8-inch square buttered pan and bake in a slow oven (300\u00b0) for 25 minutes, until brown.
    Cut squares.
    Makes 12 or 16 squares.
