Nona'S Pasta Salad * - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    bell peppers (red, yellow and green), chopped
    12 Sicilian olives
    1 pkg. penne pasta (only available in Italian deli's)
    8 Italian spicy sausages (you may have to boil them for 15 minutes before browning; low-fat turkey is okay to substitute), cut in 1/2-inch slices
    onion
    1 clove garlic, pressed
    1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes (fresh is best)
    1 c. old red wine
    1 tsp. basil
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Brown sausages in a frypan with onion, peppers and garlic (use own fat, don't add oil).
    Cook pasta according to directions on package.
    Add rest of ingredients and chill.
    Can be served hot or cold.
