Rhubarb Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 c. shortening (1 stick margarine)
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 1/2 c. chopped rhubarb (fresh or frozen)
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix shortening, sugar and egg until creamy.
    Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk; beat until smooth.
    Fold in rhubarb and add vanilla last.
    Sprinkle on top before baking 1/2 cup white sugar, mixed with 1 teaspoon cinnamon and dot with butter.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes in a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
