Buttermilk Lemon Pie - cooking recipe

pastry for single-crust pie (9-inches)
1 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. buttermilk
4 eggs
1/4 c. butter or margarine, melted
1/3 c. lemon juice
1 Tbsp. grated lemon peel
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
Preparation

Line a 9-inch pie plate with pastry. Trim, seal and flute edges; set aside. In a large bowl, combine sugar, flour and salt. In a large mixing bowl, beat buttermilk, eggs, butter, lemon juice, lemon peel and vanilla. Add to sugar mixture; mix well. Pour into crust. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Bake at 400\u00b0 for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 325\u00b0. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack.
