Divinity Candy - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. sugar
2 egg whites
3/4 c. white syrup
3/4 c. water
1 c. nuts, chopped
1/2 c. grated coconut
1 pkg. flavored jello
Preparation

Mix sugar, syrup and water in saucepan and let come to a boil, stirring constantly.
Reduce heat and continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until it forms a soft ball.
Beat egg whites until stiff, but not dry.
Pour half of the syrup over egg whites, beating constantly.
Continue to beat.
Return syrup to heat. Continue cooking until it forms hard ball.
Sprinkle in jello gradually, then pour remaining syrup over first mixture, beating until candy loses its gloss.
Stir in nuts and coconut.
Drop by spoonful on wax paper.
