Candied Dills - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    firm cucumbers, cut into strips
    3 3/4 c. vinegar
    5 c. sugar
    3 tsp. salt
    4 1/2 tsp. celery seed
    4 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    3/4 tsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over cucumbers and let stand for 4 to 5 hours.
    Mix together all ingredients other than cucumbers.
    Boil 5 minutes.
    Pack cucumbers in jars.
    Pour mixture into jars (put 1 or 2 heads of dill in jars before cucumbers).
    Screw on flats and lids.
    Process jars in hot water bath for 5 minutes.
    Makes 6 pints.
