Hawaiian Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (8 oz.) can pineapple chunks in heavy syrup
    2 lb. chicken parts
    1 can chicken broth
    2 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1 large clove garlic, minced
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1/4 c. vinegar
    2 tsp. soy sauce
    1 medium green pepper, diced
    1/4 c. water
Preparation
    Drain pineapple. Save syrup.
    In skillet, brown chicken parts in shortening.
    Pour off fat.
    Add syrup, broth, vinegar, sugar, soy and garlic.
    Cover and cook on low heat for 40 minutes.
    Add green pepper and pineapple chunks.
    Cook 5 minutes more or until done.
    Stir occasionally.
    Combine cornstarch and water; gradually stir into sauce.
    Cook, stirring, until thickened.
