Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. butter
    1 c. apple butter
    5 eggs, separated
    3 1/2 c. self-rising flour
    1 c. buttermilk with 1 tsp. soda added
    1 lb. box raisins
    1 small can crushed pineapple
    1 1/2 c. nuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. each cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice
Preparation
    Cream
    sugar
    and
    butter;
    add egg yolks and mix well. Mix dry
    ingredients.
    Add
    alternately
    with buttermilk; add pineapple, apple butter, jam, raisins, nuts and vanilla.
    Fold in beaten egg whites.\tBake at 350\u00b0 until cake cooks away from sides of pan.
    Yield: 4 (8-inch) layers.
