Asparagus Supreme - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. fresh asparagus
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
    2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    1 (8 oz.) carton sour cream
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Snap off tough ends of asparagus.
    Remove scales with a vegetable peeler or knife, if desired.
    Place asparagus in a vegetable steamer over boiling water; cover and steam 8 to 10 minutes or until crisp-tender.
    Arrange asparagus in a lightly greased 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
    Set aside.
