Easy Time Holiday Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. butter or margarine
    4 eggs
    2 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. lemon extract or juice
    1 can cherry pie filling
    confectioners sugar
Preparation
    Gradually add sugar to butter, creaming until light and fluffy. At medium speed, add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. At low speed, add flour and lemon extract.
    Pour batter into well greased 10 x 15 x 1-inch jelly roll pan. (I use large cookie sheet.) Mark off (with knife) 24 squares. Place 1 teaspoon pie filling in center of each square. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes. While warm, sift confectioners sugar over cake. Cool; cut in squares. (May substitute any flavor pie filling.)
